Jones is a heartworm positive beauty saved from euthanasia by his foster mom of the last day of his life. He is an amazingly good boy who is dog friendly, people friendly and kid friendly.
He was doomed to be put down in the canine influenza situation last month at Greenville County Animal Care Services, a high-kill shelter located in upstate South Carolina.
Since Jones was heartworm positive, he had less of a chance of surviving the shelter experience than a healthy dog. Northern rescues who normally help the Greenville shelter dogs were prohibited from taking him due to possible exposure to the flu.
Jones treatment has now taken a crazy turn and he needs just a bit more funding.
A few kind donors sponsored his heartworm treatment. He was recovering in his foster home but then began acting ill and did not want to eat. He had to return to the vet for an exam, labs, and fluids and it looks like he will need a new antibiotic for a urinary tract infection.
These additional expenses were unexpected and Jones needs some more guardian angels to help him get healthy and ready for a forever home. Please contribute for Jones. No amount is too small. You may also call a donation directly to Wade Hampton vet at 864-244-1658 and say it's for Jones.
