A down-on-his-luck dog, discovered wandering the streets in Detroit, Mich., a short time ago, has had a complete change of fortune, reported Thursday's WXYZ News.
A resident saw the dog, a handsome pit bull now known as "Boulder," with a heavy logging chain stuck in his mouth, and they contacted the Michigan Humane Society Emergency Rescue hotline.
An emergency response team answered the call, and they decided to transport Boulder back to the shelter so that the cumbersome chain could safely be removed from his mouth.
When Boulder arrived to the facility, employees realized that the chain was stuck because a carabiner was clamped on his bottom jaw. The dog, though frightened, and possibly in pain, sat patiently while the heavy chain was removed.
Shortly thereafter, Boulder was vaccinated and put up for adoption.
Boulder's change of fortune continued; today, the once homeless dog has a new guardian.
On Thursday, the Michigan Humane Society posted this happy update on their Facebook page:
That was fast! Boulder is going to his new home with Marikaye today!
May Boulder's good fortune continue...
