On Friday September 27 the owners of Pilsung ATA Martial Arts received a call that provided a fitting end to a great effort to support their community. The Life Safety Officer, Craig Zollars, from the White River Township Fire Department called to let everyone know that their donation would be going to support the Christmas Angels Program through the fire department.
The donation itself was the culmination of months of work beginning with the 21st Annual Strawberry Festival back in June. The students and staff of Pilsung participated in the Strawberry Festival to help the fire department raise funds to support their many life-saving and life-enhancing efforts. During the event Pilsung hosted a board breaking station, educated visitors on child safety and put on a live demonstration of skills. The event was a great success for everyone involved and the staff of the school pledged to donate a portion of all new enrollments from the event back to the fire department as a way of saying “thank you”.
The ultimate application of Pilsung’s donation, the Christmas Angels Program, fits perfectly into the school’s mission to build a stronger community by helping the community’s children. The Christmas Angels Program helps make sure children on the free and reduced lunch programs in the local schools have something under the Christmas tree. The staff of Pilsung was elated to help the children have a happier Christmas!
