Pistorius couldn't handle rejection

This is my theory and I'm sticking to it: Oscar Pistorius, the hero Olympian of South Africa, killed his hot girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp because she was going to leave him. I have no proof other than my gut instincts. I see no other reason why a man who had so much to live for would blow it all away by blowing his gorgeous girlfriend away. It stands to reason that she was going to split for brighter pastures, and Oscar would be no part of that. The fact that he was handicapped probably didn't help and could've been a key factor why he resorted to murder. Maybe the fact he had his legs amputated made him feel, for all his celebrity and admiration, less like a man. That potential could've enraged him beyond his ability to control his emotions because it is the one aspect of his life he has no control over.

This weekend was to be another bright beginning for Reeva as she was to start a new venture appearing in a reality TV show. This endeavor would have taken her away, and maybe her new life played another part in this sad end to both the careers and lives of people so young, with so much yet to conquer.

The one aspect of domestic life the world over the past fifty years is the angry response to rejection played out by men whose female companions decide to leave. Yes, it's also part of the gun culture since killing a lover with a gun is less "hands on" than a brutal killing by a knife or one's own hands. It easy to fire a gun at somebody in the heat of anger than the time and bloody effort it takes to knife or beat someone to death. This death was obviously a killing out of anger, and only Pistorius knows the reasons, and just when he decided to end his girlfriend's life. It's almost more brutal if he did plan her killing as authorities seem to think. Had Reeva been talking to Oscar about her pending departure? Was it obvious as it is in so many romances when love begins to fade? Did Oscar specifically know she was leaving, or was it just apparent to him? We may never know the answers, but his fate seems sealed, even at this early date. It seems already that South African authorities will go for life in prison. There may be other pieces of this puzzle yet to appear, maybe even another man, but only time will tell, because Oscar may never reveal much of anything.

Regardless of what happens, this is a sad ending to the promising careers and lives of Reeva Steenkamp and Oscar Pistorius. A romance which may have veered off course because Oscar Pistorius simply could not bear the idea of losing such a pretty woman. Maybe Oscar felt he could never again find such a woman. It's too bad such raw emotion can take hold of someone and drive them to what could be described as (a non-clinical form of) temporary insanity. A similar fate seems to be what was behind the death of Nicole Brown Simpson. Trust me, if there's one feeling infecting the mind of Oscar Pistorius as he languishes in jail, it is the vast remorse he has over taking her life and ruining his. It's part of most killer's fates as they realize they made a most horrid, life-altering decision. Unable to control his emotions, he allowed his anger to take over an otherwise tightly controlled mental capacity. How can I say that? A man who had his legs amputated and overcame that physical and emotional trauma to become an Olympian under such seeming obstacles, has to have a very strong sense of ambition and mental fortitude to accomplish what he has. As in similar tragedy, it all comes undone over the intense love of a woman. In a way, it's all so human, but that cannot extinguish the sheer waste of it all.
