Piracy hurting PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe

PixelJunk Monsters is one of the best selling Playstation Network games on the Playstation 3. Unfortunately, the PSP version, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, isn’t finding the same success due to the high piracy rates.

Dylan Cuthbert, President and Managing Director of Q-Games, made the following discouraging remarks on his personal Twitter page: “I don't think we'll port anything else to the PSP, we have to see how PJMD does as there's a *lot* of piracy”

He responded to a comment about PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe being a great fit on the PSP by stating, “Monsters is such a good fit it is being pirated I think, maybe the pirates will buy the full version out of guilt?”

When asked if the game can do a check to see if it is a legit copy, Dylan Cuthbert responded with the following statement: “unfortunately the pirates could just hack those kinds of things out”

Finally, he tweeted the following message when someone suggested that a demo could limit the high piracy rates: “a psp demo is in the works but I don't think it makes any difference to piracy”

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe was released as a Playstation Network title for the PSP on October 1st, which is the same day the PSP Go launched.
