In two “people's choice”-style awards announced recently, the British Royals and their associates have done fairly well. On February 1, both Pippa Middleton and the Duchess of Cambridge were nominated in the list of “100 most desirable woman” by AskMen.com, while Prince Harry and Prince Charles have made GQ's "Best Dressed" list.
While Zooey Deschanel of “New Girl” was number one, Pippa made the list at number 98, and the Duchess of Cambridge was number 11. The Duchess of Cambridge was also recently named “Hat Person of the Year.” (Story continues below.)
Pippa made the list because, as AskMen.com puts it, “you know you're hot when you overshadow your sister on her wedding day.” As for the Duchess of Cambridge, it's the “storybook romance.” Prince William and Pippa's rumored new boyfriend, George Percy, would probably agree.
GQ also released its “2011 Best Dressed” list at the end of January. Tinie Tempah won that particular poll, but Prince William didn't rank in the top 50 at all this year; last year, he was number 27. On the other hand, Prince Harry was number 25...and Prince Charles snuck in at number 50.
According to “The Telegraph,” Prince Harry reportedly got in because of his ability to look good in uniform and scruffy jeans, while Prince Charles has a “timeless” style—literally, since he last year admitted that he doesn't like to buy clothes more than once a decade or so.
It could be worse: None of the British Royals made GQ's worst-dressed list.
