According to WISTV News, Piper, the stray dog who had a piece of metal duct work stuck on his head for a week, was captured on Monday night in Oconee County, S.C.
Somehow, by Monday morning, the dog had managed to get himself free from the pipe, but he was still running loose in the area. Around 8:15 p.m., Piper was captured. According to Oconee County Animal Control, the dog is "exhausted," but otherwise appears to be okay in spite of his traumatizing ordeal.
Now that Piper is safely off of the streets, he will be neutered and brought up to date on his shots.
Last week, the mostly feral dog managed to elude those who were trying to help. Over the weekend, volunteers worked tirelessly to capture the feral stray. On Saturday, the Upstate Animal Rescue Foundation advised their Facebook followers that Piper was beginning to calm down when gunfire in the area spooked him and he ran away yet again.
The local animal control has expressed gratitude over the public's willingness to help Piper. According to the Upstate Animal Rescue Foundation, a home for Piper has already been secured.
