A pipeline explosion sent flames shooting into the sky so high that the flames could be seen from 50 miles away from this Oklahoma natural gas pipeline. The Karnes County pipeline explosion injured one man on Tuesday, according to The Inquisitr on Oct. 9.
An evacuation of homes within a two mile radius of this explosion was quickly underway as this tremendous explosion rocked the area. Highways that came anywhere near the area were closed down as the Northern Natural Gas pipeline explosion continued to burn.
As of Wednesday morning the company reported the flames have been extinguished. The press release included:
“The fire has been extinguished. We isolated that section of the line and let the gas burn down.”
The natural gas pipeline will not be interrupted as the company already rerouted the pipeline around the area of the explosion. The area of the pipeline destroyed in the explosion may take up to several weeks to repair, reports the company.
