Pinot Paradise Ultimate Winemaker Dinners at The Mountain Winery and Shadowbrook

The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association Pinot Lovers weekend is coming up soon. One of the most popular parts of the event sells out early, but this year there are two chances to dine with your favorite winemaker.

On Friday, March 22 at The Mountain Winery, Saratoga, guests will be able to dine with a legendary Pinot Noir winemaker and experience live food pairing demonstrations by Executive Chef, David Sidoti.

First Course:

Delicate lettuce with glazed walnuts

Fresh raspberries and creamy brie

Raspberry red wine vinaigrette

Main Course:

Seared fresh salmon fillet served with rosemary whipped potatoes, roasted carrots, assorted heirloom squash

Pink peppercorn, chardonnay mustard sauce

Dessert:

Lemon curd parfait - layers of lemon curd and sponge cake with whipped mascarpone and biscotti

On Saturday, March 23 at Shadowbrook Restaurant, Capitola, guests have another opportunity to dine with their favorite Pinot Noir winemaker and experience a culinary dinner created by Executive Chef, Ashley Hosmer.

Pinot pork belly

Sous-vide in pinot noir, spicy pickled onions, mache, local quail egg

Intermezzo:

Sparkling plum-pinot sorbet

Entree:

Wild Salmon surf & turf

Local salmon roulade with leeks and Moroccan spices and beef short rib braised in local pinot and aromatics

Dessert:

Honey lavender panna cotta and rhubarb soup

Tickets at $125 per person include meal, wine, tax and gratuity.

Join in for a weekend celebrating the legendary Pinot Noirs of the Santa Cruz Mountains for three days of Pinot heaven:

- On Friday, attend a Technical Session exploring the elusive character of minerality, and then dine with the winemakers that evening

- On Saturday, visit the wineries on the Pathway to Paradise and then dine with the winemakers Saturday evening

- On Sunday, taste all Pinots at the Grand Cruz tasting

Join over 30 Pinot Noir winemakers of the Santa Cruz Mountains and taste over 150 wines. Enjoy delectable edibles from over a dozen gourmet restaurants from the Bay Area from 2 to 5 p.m.

Accompanying the tasting will be an auction featuring double magnums from each winery, plus a sensational one-of-kind Paradise Cuveé, a 5-liter blend of all the best Pinots being poured at the event, or, a party in a bottle!
