Pinkberry co-founder arrested for assaulting homeless man

Young Lee, the co-founder of Pinkberry frozen yogurt has reportedly been charged with assault after attacking a homeless man with a tire iron in Los Angeles.

Lee, 47, was arrested on January 16 for an assault that happened back in June, 2011. The Pinkberry co-founder came back to LA from South Korea on Monday and was arrested for the assault at Los Angeles International Airport. The Reuters report states that Lee and another man "had words" with the homeless man in June near the LA Freeway.

"Lee then parked and got out of the vehicle to attack the man, who had exposed a sexually explicit tattoo in a move Lee interpreted as an act of disrespect, prosecutors said. Lee, wielding a tire iron, beat the man on his head and arm, breaking the man's left forearm and causing cuts to his head...."

Young Lee helped to create the popular frozen yogurt chain, Pinkberry in 2005. The company now has over 170 locations worldwide. Pinkberry indicates that Lee is no longer associated with the company.
