Pink sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at the Oscars 2014 as a tribute to Judy Garland in her role in the "Wizard of Oz." The March 2 performance was done while this celebrated singer stood in front of actual footage from the film on stage at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Judy Garland's children -- including lookalike daughter Liza Minnelli as well as Lorna Luft, and Joey Luft -- sat in the audience to watch their mother be applauded in such a dramatic way.

No doubt Pink was hot as she wore a floor-length red gown that glittered like the fantasy she was singing about.

That said, this was not the first time a songstress covered the familiar tune at the Academy Awards. Diana Ross belted the same iconic tune for the Oscars in 1990.

Meanwhile, the Judy Garland segment that aired toward the end of the Oscars on Sunday was introduced by Whoopi Goldberg. The Oscar winner wore her modern version of the ruby slippers Dorothy wore in the "Wizard of Oz"while Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres, in drag, wore a pink Glinda the Good Witch costume after Pink entertained.

What a highlight.
