On Friday, June 14, 2013, the Delta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated in conjunction with the Ivy Rose Foundation, Inc. will host its biennial Pink and Green Ball 2013: A Benefit Embracing Brooklyn at the Dyker Beach Golf Course.
Since 1947 the Delta Rho Omega Chapter has served the Brooklyn community with initiatives and programs in the areas of community health, youth development, and financial literacy. The 2010-2014 "Global Leadership Through Timeless Service," program of the sorority's 28th International President Carolyn House Stewart is supported by the Brooklyn Chapter Delta Rho Omega 2013's initiatives and programs which include: Emerging Young Leaders, Doris Harris Queens/Brooklyn Children’s Center, Go Green Program, DRO Health Fair and Blood Drive, Breast Cancer and Alzheimer’s Walks, Circle of Love Senior Program, Pink Goes Red, DRO Clean Water Africa Program, HBCU College Tour, Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (G.E.M.S.), Beautillion/Rites of Passage, Holiday Food Baskets and Ivy Rose Community Appreciation.
The black tie event themed "A Mid Summer's Night's Masquerade" is expected to be a successful and enjoyable night of fundraising, good music, food and great people.
