Pilot Pen: Men's Final

Spain's Fernando Verdasco celebrates after winning the 2009 Pilot Pen Championship.New Haven (8/29/09) - Fernando Verdasco defeated American Sam Querrey 6-4, 7-6(6) to capture the Pilot Pen Championship, his first tournament win in 2009.

The Spaniard did not drop a set the entire tournament en route to his third career win.

Despite being down 6-3 in the second set tiebreak, Verdasco rallied for the next five points to take the match.

Both players move on to play in the US Open in New York this week.
