Could you imagine a pilot passing out and still landing the plane safe? This just happened and everyone is okay. On Feb. 1, ABC reported that an Alaskan Airlines pilot lost consciousness while flying the plane.
Flight 473 took off from LAX and was headed to Seattle. They still do not know what caused him to pass out. The co-pilot was able to take over the plane and land everyone safely with no problems at all. Medical personal met them on the runway to take care of the pilot. They landed in Portland.
Passengers on the plane were asked if they were nurses or doctors on the plane that could help. He had been a pilot for 28 years and was taken to the hospital to be treated. They are saying that he had some kind of medical condition, but won't admit what it was at this point.
