General Mills issued a Pillsbury recall Friday, involving its popular cinnamon rolls, because the dough may contain plastic pieces. The Pillsbury recall affects cinnamon rolls sold nationwide, however only certain packages with particular date codes are involved, according to The Wall Street Journal on Sept. 6. The specific products being recalled are Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing.
Included in the voluntary recall are the 8-count single packages with better if used by dates of October 30, 2013 and October 31, 2013. Also the 2-packs with the dates October 18, 2013, October 26, 2013 and October 31, 2013.
Other Pillsbury refrigerated dough products, such as Pillsbury Flaky Cinnamon Rolls and Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls, are not part of the recall.
General Mills issued the recall because of a discovered broken piece of plastic on its production line. The products were sold in grocery stores across the country.
