General Mills has announced on Friday, a voluntary Pillsbury recall of “Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing.” The company cautions the public that a limited quantity of this particular product “may contain fragments from a broken piece of plastic on the production line,” which have become incorporated in the dough.” This is a nationwide recall, reports Daily Finance on Friday, Sept. 6.
This appears to be a specific, short-term problem which affected only a small run of the sugary breakfast rolls. Only eight-count single and double cylinders containing icing are included in the Pillsbury recall.
According to a spokesperson for General Mills, "no other flavors or varieties of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls or Pillsbury dough products are being recalled." So if your breakfast plans include Pillsbury Flaky Cinnamon Rolls or Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls, you may enjoy your treat in perfect safety. Neither similar tube of sweet rolls is part of the recall.
Look for the "better if used date" printed on the tube. Only the following lots are affected by the recall:
• 30OCT2013 and 31OCT2013 (for eight-count single packages), and
• 18OCT2013, 26OCT2013 and 31OCT2013 (for eight-count double packages).
