Celebrating their fifteenth monumental season, The Pilgrim Festival Chorus has thrilled audiences with contemporary and traditional carols during the holiday season as well as mastering a wide array of languages, medieval poetry, patriotic songs and many other challenging works. As always, Pilgrim Festival Chorus Music Director William B. Richter has helmed their musical journey each year and Elizabeth Chapman Reilly has provided piano accompaniment.
On Saturday, June 28, Sunday, June 29, and Sunday, July 6, The Pilgrim Festival Singers will step under the lights of Broadway with ‘Broadway Melodies.’ Their tour will begins at the Central Congregational Church, 2 Webster Street in Middleboro, MA on Saturday, June 28, continue at the the Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 29, and a final performance will be held at First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way in Scituate, MA on Sunday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. Visit pilgrimfestivalchorus.org for more information!
Exploring Broadway tunes from the 1930s through the 1990s and beyond, Pilgrim Festival Singers will take on songs from award-winning musicals such as George Gershwin’s ‘Porgy and Bess,’ Frank Loesser’s ‘Guys and Dolls,’ Leonard Bernstein’s and Stephen Sondheim’s ‘West Side Story,’ and ‘Ragtime.’
‘Summertime,’ ‘Fugue for Tinhorns,’ ‘Tonight,’ ‘Guys and Dolls,’ and ‘Make Them Hear You,’ are just some of the beloved Broadway tunes that will be performed by soloists and duets.
