Since the opening of the new branch in Milford, PA, the Pike County Public Library continues to reach out to engage all kinds of residents. Here is a sampling of some of their efforts.

HOW TO DESIGN YOUR OWN VEGETABLE GARDEN

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Pike County will present a monthly series of gardening programs in the Community Room of Pike County Public Library beginning on Saturday, March 29 from 10:00 AM until noon. This first program will focus on “Designing Your Own Vegetable Garden.”The program is free and open to the public.

AUTHOR BOOK READING AND DISCUSSION at PCPL

Dr. Gregory Steinberg will read from his book, A Doctor’s Odyssey on Sunday, April 6th from 1:00-3:00 PM in the Community Room of Pike County Public Library in Milford. A discussion and book signing will follow the reading. A Doctor’s Odyssey chronicles Dr. Steinberg’s experiences in the medical field in the United Kingdom and the United States This informative event is free and open to the public.

LOCAL WALMART DONATES TELEVISION TO NEW LIBRARY

Rocco Fasulo, Store Manager of Walmart, located at 220 Routes 6 and 209 in Milford,recently presented the Pike County Public Library’s new Dorothy E. Warner Building with a wide-screen, wi-fi equipped television set for use in the library’s Community Meeting Room. Library Director Ellen Schaffner expressed the library’s appreciation for the gift.

“The television is a great resource which can be used for programs and presentations,” said Schaffner of the gift. “It expands all that our meeting room can offer to the public. We are very grateful to our local Walmart for this generous contribution to our library and to the community.”

ATTEND A BOARD MEETING

The next meeting of the PCPL Board of Directors has been moved to Monday, March 24th, beginning at 10:00 AM in the Community Room of the library in Milford.
