Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL is coming to North America, still no black version

Ever since the Nintendo 3DS received a price cut in 2011, sales increased dramatically and as of 2013, it's still one of the fastest selling handhelds of all time. The 3DS XL, a much larger version of the 3DS with bigger screens, was released in August 2012. There hasn't been a wide selection of colors, but luckily, most of the gamers who want a 3DX XL are Pokemon fans. It's finally been confirmed that a yellow Pikachu 3DS XL is hitting North America on March 24.

There are many gamers who have at least one version of the system, but a lot of gamers are holding back until a decent color is released. Red, Blue and Pink doesn't appeal to every Nintendo fan out there. After being on the market for nearly 2 years, there still isn't a black or white version. If you browse numerous 3DS forums, you'll see that most gamers are waiting until a black or white XL is released in North America. Now that gamers are getting a yellow Pikachu version, this will hold fans over until better colors are released.

The Pikachu 3DS XL comes with a 4GB SD memory card and will be priced at $199.99. With "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" coming the the 3DS later this year, gamers will absolutely love playing with Pikachu on their Pikachu flavored 3DS. There are also other Pokemon games available for the 3DS available to gamers in the meantime.

Nintendo's 3DS XL has been confirmed by Kotaku to be one of the "best portable gaming" devices ever made. If you've ever played a 3DS XL, you'll notice that games have more depth and the screens are much more better on the eyes than the original version. It seems to be a great year for Nintendo with the 3DS, 3DS XL, and Wii U. Also, with all of the great games coming this year, Nintendo fans won't be disappointed.
