Making the list of bird-brained concepts dreamed up by drug dealers, three distributors in Argentina were arrested after they trained carrier pigeons to deliver their dope to low level destributors throughout Buenos Aires.
Strapping 12 gram packets of marijuana to the bodies of the pigeons, the dealers sent the dope from the farm to the streets around the Argentine capital.
Once trained, each bird would make about 20 round trips a day which means alot of pigeon poop and pigeon pot flying around Capital Federale.
"There are three people detained and we found about 400 grams of marijuana,” Nestor Larrauri, a Buenos Aires police commissioner, told Fox News Latino.
When the police found the hideout, they napped three drug dealers, marijuana, the pigeons, heat lamps as well as a home maintenance system to get rapid plant growth.
According to Buenos Aires police, newspaper reports were also found that told the news of Colombian prisoners using pigeons for similar purposes.
Authorities wouldn’t say how they discovered the house where the drugs were from and which served as an “airport” of sorts for the pigeons. They would only say that the investigation took approximately 40 days.
