Piers Morgan cancelled: Larry King would like to return

CNN has cancelled "Piers Morgan Live," after three years of less than mediocre reviews. According to a Feb. 24 article on, Morgan thinks the reason for his being sacked was his anti-gun stance, though he did acknowledge the very poor ratings. Interestingly, the original host of the show, Larry King, has told The Daily Beast that he would like to return to his previous seat if it could be worked out with Ora TV, home of his new gig, "Larry King Now."

King is 81 years old and has already been the subject of many jokes on late night television due to his age. It is yet unknown whether CNN would consider his return to the show as a positive ratings booster.

Morgan had alienated quite a segment of the viewing population with his very outspoken opinions on gun control, but he had also regularly expressed opinions on other subjects, including the Bible, which were not in line with traditional American views.

There was actually a petition organized and signed through the White House website that called for President Obama to deport Piers Morgan, and it had a record number of signatures. You can read about that here.
