Colleen Coover, Jen Vaughn, and Jake Richmond were the performers at the seventh edition of Comics Underground, a live show at the Jack London Bar in which comics creators perform their work before an audience.
Founders Alison Hallett and Erik Henriksen continued their tradition of sharing some of the best that the Portland comics scene has to offer in a community setting.
This evening was a little different from past shows in that there was no intermission, so the performances continued without a break, a move which helped to prevent conversation from interrupting the artists. As usual, the creators focused on humor and multiple voices to bring their work to life.
Jake Richmond's Modest Medusa provided humorous anecdotes about a young snake-haired creature found living in his house eating Chocodiles. Richmond was joined by additional performers, including his housemate, who played himself.
Jen Vaughn added audience participation by inviting volunteers on stage to sing verses of the saucy old tune "Roll Your Leg Over" during her story.
