Pics of Whitecaps six goal thriller with Sporting Kansas

Vancouver Whitecaps drew 3-3 with Sporting Kansas City at Empire Field.

The Caps aimed to bounce back from last week’s 1-0 loss in Philadelphia. They were without the suspended Designated Player Eric Hassli, though Kansas were also without Omar Bravo.

Camillo Sanvezzo replaced Hassli. Worst news was that a groin injury kept Jay DeMerit out of the game. Blake Wagner joined the staring line up, with Greg Janicki making it a back five..

Whitecaps were also without Russell Teibert (Canada U-20)and Omar Salgado (USA U-20).

Jay Nolly was back in goal for the Whitecaps replacing Joe Cannon.

Teal Bunbury replaced Omar Bravo for Kansas and had to face booing due to Canadian opinion on his choice to play for the USA instead of Canada.

After an opening goalless start which saw no scoring in the opening 44 minutes, the game exploded into goal action just before half time with the away side taking a slender lead into the interval.

However an explosive five goal second half was to come.
