Take a Picnic & Tour of Rose's Berry Farm on Saturday, September 21st, 2013 to benefit the Connecticut Farmland Trust. The whole family will enjoy an afternoon on Connecticut's largest blueberry farm. The farm also provides many other seasonal favorites including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, pears, pumpkins, and Christmas trees! This is a unique opportunity to explore the farm and meet the farmers. Lunch will be provided along with beverages and ice cream.
Cost is $20 for members of the Connecticut Farmland Trust and $30 for non-members. Children under 10 are free. Hours for the event are 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
Rose's Berry Farm is located at 295 Matson Hill Road in South Glastonbury, CT. If you cannot make this special date, Rose's Berry Farm also offers a weekly Breakfast-With-A-View on Sunday mornings from June 9th through October 20th, 2013, serving fresh farm toppings on pancakes, waffles or french toast as customers overlook the farm from their 100 ft long elevated deck.
The farmstand on Hebron Avenue is open from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, including during the special Picnic & Tour event, shorter hours on weekdays. Rose's Berry Farm also visits numerous farmers markets in Hartford, West Hartford, New Haven, Middletown, Windsor, and other towns.
