Picking a Venue for your Destination Wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado

Choosing a venue for your mountain wedding is hard. Especially if it's a destination wedding to a location you've only visited once. Or, maybe never. That's where you want to find referrals from past brides who have married in the area to see who they used for their wedding. Another option is to hire a local planner who has worked in the area for a long time and has experience over multiple seasons in multiple venues.

Working with someone who doesn't live in the area, but has worked in the area might be ok, but if you need them to visit the venue to take a photo or measure an area, it could take days, possibly weeks before they visit the area of your wedding again.

There are lots of choices for mountain weddings in the Breckenridge and Summit County area, and the photo you see here is of the Mountain Thunder Lodge and is run by Vail Resorts and Breckenridge Hospitality. This venue takes care of the linens, catering and event space. Guests can stay on site, or choose another location. But, why would you, when you consider that the MTL is right across the street from the Gondola. Perfect for a winter wedding if you ask me!
