Pickens woman arrested after failing to return a video cassette in 2005

An upstate woman has been arrested over a video cassette, Fox Carolina reported February 14.

Pickens, South Carolina resident Kayla Michelle Finley, 27, rented Monster-In-Law from Dalton Video way back in 2005. She failed to return it within 72 hours, and was sent numerous letters to return the video.

Kayla still failed to return the video after she was sent a certified warrant on September 12, 2005.

Dalton Video is now longer in business, yet Kayla was arrested February 13 after a record check showed the outstanding warrant with a value of less than $1,000.

This should serve as a reminder, should your family rent a video and fail to return it on time.

It seems a bit harsh that Kayla will now have a criminal record for life if convicted. How will this be present at a trial, since Dalton Video is no long doing business?
