Pickens County Sportsman's Club (PCSC) in Jasper, Georgia, held an IDPA Match onDecember 18, 2011. The match began at noon and finished about 3:00 PM. The weather was cool but clear; excellent shooting weather.
There were 4 stages with a minimum round count of 58. One stage was a test of shooting skill. The other 3 stages were based on actual incidents.
Stage 1 was a standard shooting exercise with 2 targets. The shooters had to engage 1 target with rounds, reload, and engage the 2nd target with 6 rounds. It was scored Limited Vickers, meaning only the specified number of shots could be fired.
The 2nd stage required the shooter to engage 5 targets while traversing a pair of walls. The shooter had to engage the targets using the cover of the doorway between the 2 walls.
A park robbery stakeout was the basis for Stage 3. The shooter began seated and had to engage 4 targets with 2 rounds each, as quickly as possible. A non-threat target obscured the closest shoot target.
Stage 4 consisted of 2 strings. The shooter began on 1 side of a wall and engaged 2 targets on the move. Then the shooter engaged 2 targets behind cover. Following an off the clock reload, the shooter moved to the opposite side of the wall. For the 2nd string, the shooter engaged 2 targets on the move then moved to the opposite side of the wall and engaged 2 more targets. The stage required a minimum of 16 rounds.
