Apple users can pick up “Infinity Blade” on their iPhone or iPad for free until Feb. 21. Downloading the game gives the player access to both the iPhone and iPad versions of the games.
“Infinity Blade” is a game developed by Chair Entertainment and Epic Games, and originally released through the Apple App Store on Dec. 9, 2010. It was the first iOS game to run using the Unreal Engine 3. The game was the “fastest-grossing app” in the history of iOS at the time, as it sold $1.6 million in four days. The game has been generally favorably reviewed by gaming critics. “Infinity Blade” is widely regarded to be a visual achievement because of the highly detailed graphics that were displayed on the iPhone.
The game follows a warrior on his quest to ascend through a castle and defeat the immortal God King. Each time the player is slain by the God King, the player assumes control of the warrior’s descendant, and must start again at the beginning of the castle.
