Picclick.com - one of the most useful 3rd party eBay tools - antiques sellers take note

PicClick eBay
Just the facts...lots of them...highly organized.

Picking up the slack on eBay search is a very cool tool at  www.picclick.com. New sites and apps pop up so fast that it's almost impossible to stay current, but the best ones have a way of rise to the top by becoming useful right away. I was asked to take a look at it by Tamar Weinberg of www.tipd.com who was quite enthusiastic about it. After reviewing it I see why. This site rocks!

Almost anyone who shops eBay would have a use for this tool but  antiques sellers especially should take note.

Here's how this free site works.

  • Once you're at picclick.com, a page with 33 category boxes pops up
  • Clicking on any given category will bring a grid of photos, sub-categories, and price option search boxes within that in that category
  • Under each thumbnail stated is the time left in the auction, amount the bid is at, and  how many bids have been entered.
  • At the category/thumbnail page, you can sort by: best match, ending soon, newly listed, lowest price or highest price.
  • There's a slider option on the page which allows yo to enlarge the thumbnails.
  • Clicking on any thumbnail will bring you right to that listing on eBay.

There's beauty in simplicity and one could argue that there's not anything drastically different which picclick provides.  It doesn't change eBay, it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, nor flash and splash. It just brings you a lot more of the content you're specifically interested in, to one page, in a highly organized fashion.  It's easy, useful and it works well.

Since shopping for antiques usually begins with a visual experience, this app can be a fantastic time saver. I think Picclick.com will become a favorite of dealers and re-sellers because antiques pickers are quick to favor tools that give them a clear advantage.

The large amount of information picclick properly puts into relevant, digestable context on it's pages, makes for a no-nonsense experience which I predict buyers will appreciate greatly.

In my opinionn, Picclick is one of the best 3rd party eBay apps I've seen in years.
