One of the top pianists of today will be coming to Ames on January 31. Originally scheduled to perform on December 20 (postponed due to bad weather), award-winning pianist and composer Jim Brickman will take the stage at Stephens Auditorium (Beach Avenue and Center Drive) on the Iowa State University campus on Thursday. Tickets for the show are $32 to $62 (plus taxes and fees), and they may be purchased through the Stephens Auditorium box office or online through Ticketmaster. Tickets for the original show will still be honored, and ISU students can get discounted tickets with a valid student ID.
Jim Brickman has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Lady Antebellum, Carly Simon, Martina McBride, Kenny Loggins, Michael W. Smith, Dave Koz, Herb Alpert, Collin Raye, Michael Bolton, Donny Osmond, and Olivia Newton-John. However, his solo work spanning the genres of country, jazz, pop, adult contemporary, Christian/gospel, and New Age have also received critical acclaim. Brickman has performed all over the world, including stops in Spain and Thailand, as well as the White House and Carnegie Hall.
Jim Brickman's six gold and platinum albums have propelled 30 songs into the adult radio charts, including the #1 singles "The Gift", "Valentine", "Love of My Life", "Peace", and "Simple Things". The Cleveland native has been nominated for two Grammy Awards and has a Canadian Country Music Award and a Dove Award to his credit. Brickman is tied for the most #1 New Age albums of all-time, and recently had four albums in the chart's Top 10 at the same time.
