Adobe's Creative Cloud, announced in May at the 2013 Adobe MAX conference in Downtown Los Angeles, has now exceeded more than one million premium customers. As the number of creative professionals subscribing to the Creative Cloud membership is steadily rising, Adobe is continuously adding updates to the downloadable creative desktop applications and to the numerous services that are part of the comprehensive membership.
Notably, Adobe has now introduced Generator, a new technology that can expedite the way creatives work with Photoshop for web and screen design. A new feature in Photoshop CC, Generator automates the creation of image assets from a comprehensive Photoshop design. Generator can connect these image assets directly into Edge Reflow, which is Adobe's application for building responsive websites.
Other significant new features in Photoshop CC are also drawing attention. The remarkable smart sharpen filter enhances the sharpness of images while minimizing halo effects. With the new preserve detail algorithm, images can be effectively adjusted for usage at enlarged sizes. Also, a completely new paint engine in Photoshop 3D allows for real-time previews and improved performance.
Photographers may well especially appreciate that camera raw can now be used as a filter and that it is loaded with new features. The new camera shake reduction filter can remove blur caused by camera movement, even restoring what otherwise would be an unusable image.
Adobe also recently announced the Photoshop Photography Program, a limited-time offer for existing Photoshop customers to join the Creative Cloud. This program includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom 5, and additional benefits of the Cloud services for a reduced rate.
Adobe is hosting the current Create Now World Tour, which comes to the Regal LA Live Stadium 14 in Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 29. At this free seminar, Adobe experts and evangelists including Terry White, Paul Trani, and Dennis Radeke will demonstrate Creative Cloud workflows. Adobe's new Generator features for Photoshop CC and Edge Reflow will be showcased. There will also be opportunities for asking questions and networking. Several local Adobe user groups, including Adobe Illustrator LA, will be attending this special event.
