The December day are filled with opportunities for animal advocates to help out many organizations with contributions and events such as photos with Santa. Here is one very worthy event that will benefit law enforcement and a worthy animal or two.
Country Acres Farm and Pet Center, 730 Saratoga Rd., Burnt Hills is sponsoring a Pet with Santa photo shoot on three Saturdays upcoming: December 7, 14, and 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For a minimum contribution of $10 you will receive a photo in a preview folder. A digital copy is available through email for $15.
Your participation in this event will help purchase K9 bullet and stab protective vests for NY K9 officers through Vested Interest in K9’s. Most law enforcement agencies do not have the funds to purchase bullet proof vests for canines that are often instrumental in the apprehension of felons in dangerous situations.
Vested Interest in K-9s, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit fundraising organization dedicated to providing bullet and stab protective vests for law enforcement K-9′s throughout the United States.
K9 dogs unselfishly give all they have for their jobs and are frequently put in harm’s way in the course of their work. While their human handlers almost always wear body amour in dangerous settings,;K9 dog officers aren’t afforded the same protection due to budget restraints.
A state of the art bullet and stab protective vest, made in the United States by Vested Interest in K9’s offers the ultimate protection for the K9. The cost is $950 and the vest warranty is 5 years. Since 2009, they have provided over 470 vests for law enforcement dogs.
