What was it like to watch the Sounders before they joined MLS?

Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer are called "Sounders 3.0" by some fans, and for a reason. They are the third incarnation of pro soccer in Seattle that has taken the name "Sounders." From 1974-1983 the NASL Sounders represented the Emerald City. From 1994-2008 it was the APSL - A-League - USL Sounders, who bounced around in the following stadiums: Tacoma Dome, Memorial, Renton, Starfire, Qwest.
Today Seattle Soccer Examiner features a photo flashback to what it was like watching the 2007 Seattle Sounders. Small crowds, a championship season, players who knew the fans by name.

LOL. Agreed. It ws like...more wins for less ca$h. Right now I'd say the 2010 'quality of play' from Seattle is at about 2007 USL level, sadly.
Absolutely magical season!!! The pitch invasion after the championship match is still one of my favorite Sounder moments ever
