Most women would take issue with someone grinding or twerking on their man, but not Paula Patton. Patton and Thicke have been together since their teen years and it seems there is little that will cause her to express dismay with her husband’s behavior in public. Specifically addressing Miley Cyrus’ twerking and grinding on Robin Thicke during the VMA performance of “Blurred Lines,” Patton assured the public she has no problem with it.
In a Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, interview with Bravo’s Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” Patton explained her views regarding “Twerkgate.”
“Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your … all my friends do it like that. And I don't really know what the big deal is."
Many would feel that the big deal is having another person grinding all over your partner.
It appears to all parties concerned, this was simply a business deal. Something like kissing or love scenes in movies.
Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus both addressed the controversy following the VMAs. Star magazine had a one-on-one with Thicke. Thicke stated in the exclusive report, “We knew what we were getting ourselves into. We’re entertainers, and the VMAs are the perfect place for a little shock and awe.
“We kind of knew when we were in rehearsal and we were like, ‘Okay, if you touch me with your foam finger all over my crotch, obviously a few people are going to have something to say about this’. But that was the whole point!”
Thicke, Cyrus and Patton were fully aware of what type of controversy would ensue. Showing that she fully realized Cyrus’ performance was business, she addressed the lyrics of Cyrus’ song “We Can’t Stop.”
Patton stated, “I didn't know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys. Her song's about taking molly!"
What do you think about Patton’s statements? Do you feel that you could be as free and open in your marriage? Patton and Thicke have made headlines due to a number of cheating rumors.
According to reports, Lana Scolaro, 20, is a fan who was photographed in a photo that went viral when in a mirrored image you could see Thicke’s hand on her rear. Fox News reports that Scolaro claims she kissed Thicke and he made comments regarding taking her to bed.
If Patton has no issue with Thicke performing in a sexual manner with Cyrus, such as her grinding and twerking on him, then it is possible she extends him great liberalities when it comes to interacting with fans.
What do you think? Do you have an open relationship with your partner? Do you think Patton has the correct attitude?
