Movie fans in Scottsdale are waiting to see the Jeff Buckley biopic hit the big screen. This film, starring Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley, is titled Greetings from Tim Buckley, and the young actor is playing the role of Jeff Buckley in the film. Gossip Girl airs on Channel 6 in Scottsdale. On Monday, Celeb Buzz had the first photos of the actor on the set of the film. Production on the film started on Monday. Check them out here.
Greetings from Tim Buckley is currently scheduled for release in 2012, and it also stars Imogen Poots. This isn't the only film covering the life of musician Jeff Buckley. A second, yet to be titled film, is also set to begin production in the near future. Taking on Jeff Buckley in that film is one of the stars of Spider-man on Broadway, Reeve Carney. It is Carney's film that has the backing of Buckley's family, and the rights to his music.
As for the Badgley film, both Robert Pattinson and Tom Sturridge were looked at for the role of Buckley before the Gossip Girl actor was cast.
Fans are waiting to see what is next for Penn Badgley, both on Gossip Girl and on the big screen. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:

Greetings from Tim Buckley will hit Scottsdale theaters in 2012. Fans of Penn Badgley can see him on season 5 of Gossip Girl in September on Channel 6 in Scottsdale.
