On July 9, Clay's Park Resort in North Lawrence, OH hosted the Rock the Resort festival. The excellent line-up consisted of Curse Icon, Saving Abel, My Darkest Days and Three Days Grace.
My Darkest Days barely made it in time for their 8:30 set. They had played a festival in Calgary, Alberta the night before and only arrived in Ohio following 15 hours of travel on three different flights. Running on mostly adrenaline and alcohol, the five-piece rock band from Ontario took the stage for a fantastic hour and fifteen minute set.
They filled up their time on stage with nearly every song in their catalog plus a drum solo from Doug Oliver. The audience went nuts over the singles Move Your Body and Every Lie. Due to profanity restrictions from the venue, they modified F*cked Up Situation to F'd Up Situation, which didn't quite have the same ring to it. They found a way to rebel with their huge hit Porn Star Dancing. They brought out dancers and introduced the song by repeatedly announcing that it was about "SEX!"
After their set, they spent lots of time with their fans, something that has earned them a lot of respect. They are home for a couple of days and then off again for more touring with Hinder, plus more festival appearances. Make sure to check their website for a complete tour schedule.
