Good Charlotte put on an entertaining and energetic show at the House of Blues in Cleveland on Saturday night, despite the fact that Joel and Benji Madden were both sick. Following the fantastic warm up act of Forever the Sickest Kids, Good Charlotte started the set off strong with their hit The Anthem.
Throughout the evening, there was playful banter between brothers Joel and Benji, although Benji was much more reserved with his voice between songs than usual. They played all the big hits, including I Just Wanna Live, Dance Floor Anthem and the newest single Sex on the Radio, to which the audience was already screaming along. They slowed it down in the middle for an acoustic solo from Benji, Emotionless, before kicking it back in gear. The set list even went all the way back to their first self-titled album, including the song Seasons, much to the delight of the hard core fans. The crowd was so taken with the performance that they were making the floor bounce from the front all the way to the back of the room. Good Charlotte rounded out their extensive set with their breakthrough hit, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
Following a couple of days of vocal rest per doctor’s orders, they will be back on the road at the House of Blues in Chicago on March 15.
