The Doubletree in Tampa was crammed full of excited fans, vendors, comic book creators and, yes, fans dressed as their favorite characters, for the Tampa Bay Comic Convention yesterday. Several comic book creators headlined this August show and the fans packed the house.
"I can't wait for the next one", an elementary aged girl told me after experiencing her first Tampa Comic Con.
The consensus was that the turnout was one of the best as fans stayed until past 3pm to experience and get a gander at the costume contest.
From superheroes, to anime characters, to Jedi Knights and scantily dressed models posing super heroines, this show delivered.
At one point during the costume contest, the Emcee (dressed as Wolverine) confessed there was no way they could fit all of the adults on the stage at once and he couldn't believe there were three pages of registered fans for the event.
Check out the slideshow for a few of the great costumes from this event and mark your calendar as November 13, 2012 will be the next Tampa Comic Convention.
