Los Angeles based musician, Dave Brock, is well known around the globe as the Jim Morrison of The Doors Experience, "Wild Child" for over twenty five years. Brock has toured the country regularly to sell out crowds after his very first show in 1986 at the Whiskey a Go Go in LA.
On Saturday, August 16, 2014, Wild Child performed at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston to a full house of fans who came from all over the country. The Paradise has ONE of TWO analog 32 channel boards still used, the same genre as when THE DOORS played back in the 1960's. The band's keyboardist was also playing on a 1970's keyboard that you don't see too often.
During Brock's college years, Jim Morrison's sister Anna Morrison Graham and husband Allan Graham cast Brock to play Graham's brother in "The Jim Morrison Rock Opera" which gave him national publicity in Rolling Stone Magazine and the Los Angeles Times. It was shortly after this production ended that Brock put together his own band. Wild Child, celebrating the music of Morrison.
In the early 1990's Brock was approached again to play Morrison, this time in a film entitled, "Death Becomes Her."
The late Ray Manzarek, the Doors keyboardist along with Robby Kreiger, the Doors guitarist asked Brock to join them on the road, which he did for three years and was one of the biggest high lights of Brock's career thus far. Krieger wrote one of the Doors biggest hits, "Light My Fire" and it was the first song he ever wrote. He is currently touring with a new jazz band.
