Brittany Murphy cause of death creates speculation. Police officials stated that there wasn’t foul play in Brittany Murphy’s Sunday morning death. Brittany Murphy went into cardiac arrest on Sunday morning at her home in the Hollywood Hills, and was pronounced dead at 10:04 am when she arrived at the hospital.
Assistant Coroner Ed Winter stated that initial reports showed the “death may have resulted from heart-related causes,” but that toxicology tests would not be back for six to eight weeks.
TMZ reported Sunday that there was "a significant amount of vomit" in the bathroom where Murphy was found unconscious. TMZ reported that Murphy has been taking medication for flu-like symptoms, and that several prescriptions were found in the house.
Hundreds of articles have speculated that Murphy died from cocaine use and that was the reason for the cardiac arrest. It isn’t typically that a 32-year-old woman has a heart attack and dies, and it does beg the question exactly what would create a heart attack in someone her age?
Murphy was always a thin actress, but several media publications reported Sunday that Murphy appeared emaciated recently. And several publications have shown photos of Brittany of late looking extremely thin.
MSNBC.com reported that some magazines opted not to run recent photos of Brittany looked sick and "painfully thin."
Murphy had denied rumors over the past few years that she had an eating disorder or that cocaine use was the reason she was so thin.
A statement released yesterday from her family stated: "The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time."
Brittany Murphy was at the House of Hype Gifting Suites at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah in January 2008.

It is obvious that something was wrong. Drug abuse and anorexy is often a part of star life.
Why don't every one leave here alone! Is it so hard to believe a death could be from natural causes.
My wife died at the age of 40. She had the flu and the capillaries in her lungs ruptured from the flu and caused her to drown. Don't jump to conclusions until the toxicollogy report is completed.
Cocaine & Heroin appear a flu. Prescription drugs overuse, for instance say mixing Lexapro with Oxycotin would cause flu like symptons.
I would have to agree with Ricky. Celebrities use Drugs like we drink water. It is normal for them because they all do it. Some just take it to another level and don't know when to stop. I mean there are mothers using cocaine in their coffee just to give them a little energy. This day and age is just way to much anymore and I'm only 21.
Maybe she had the swine flu.
I think the whole situation is sad. No matter what her family deserves respect during this terrible sad time.
Y'all, she's gone now, in another life.. hopefully Heaven. Let's pray it WAS natural causes and let the lady rest in peace. Who's business is it anyway, besides her family. right?

If Brittany Murphy was appearing very thin and emaciated, anorexia may have been the cause. Severe dieting oftentimes makes the body depleted of potassium which may lead to a heart attack. This was true in the case of the death of pop singer, Karen Carpenter in the 1980's

Whatever it was doesn't matter anymore! The fact of the matter is she was a great actress and she will be missed!
no, the fact of the matter is that she died and her family is trying to cover up what really caused her death... especially her husband.
it doesnt matter what is caused of her death we lost her rest in peace Brittany we all miss you.But you will still be alive for us.
