April 10th was the first unnaturally hot day of 2011 in Ohio, but with the heat came a big tour – Three Days Grace was playing at Bogart’s in Cincinnati.
Following a run of arena dates with Nickelback in the fall of 2010, Three Days Grace took several months off to relax at home and begin work on the next album. This spring, they hit the U.S. for a handful of dates at small clubs, a rare experience for such a popular band. As an added bonus, they brought fellow Canadian band My Darkest Days along to open. Not only are most of the band members from the small town of Norwood, Ontario, but Matt Walst, lead vocalist for My Darkest Days, is the little brother of Brad Walst, bassist for Three Days Grace.
The entire tour had a real family and friends feel. Many of the crew members for both bands have been around for years, so it was a real pleasure to be able to document three days of their journey together.
