Examiner caught some of our local bands over the weekend.
It was the Soul Box Band at Slap Shotz. A rocking blues band with a large following. I got the crowd up to pose for a picture with the band. It was a lot of fun! More band info: http://www.soulbox.biz
Doubleshot Boston, a hard hitting metal band played at Hajjar's over the weekend. The owner is Tillie Hajjar, 94 years young and greeting patrons since 1956. She welcomes everyone to her family restaurant, the favorite place for locals to dine and dance on the South Shore. I snapped a photo of her with the band. The Infractions Band played an outdoor concert in the early evening hours and entertained a crowd. The band is: Brian Stratton on guitar, bass, keys and vocals, Tony Rocks on guitar and vocals, Ken Reid on sax and percussion, Jeff Claassen on trumpet, Ronnie Caggiano on drums and vocals, Michael Troy on keys and vocals and Derek Gunn and Jeff Rosen on percussion.
Loretta's Last Call, a relatively new pub on Lansdowne Street features country bands. Examiner saw Mama Dear a Nashville based band who was recently written up in Rolling Stone Magazine. They sing all original material, have an exuberant stage show and beautiful harmonies. The members of MamaDear are Parker Bradway, Kelly Tillotson and Daniel Wilson. This band just released a brand new CD "Life is Better on the River." Check their website for more Boston dates: http://mamadear.com
