Charla Nash appeared on The Oprah Show Wednesday, after being attacked by a 200-pound chimpanzee in February, and has remained in hiding ever since. Carla’s face was severely disfigured and she lost both hands in the chimp attack. She has been secluded in a Cleveland clinic, and wears a veil that covers her face. No one had seen her disfigured face until Wednesday when she revealed it to Oprah.

Charla Nash is missing her nose, an eyelid and lips, and her eyes had to be removed because of an infection, and doctors told her she will never see again. Charla Nash appeared on Oprah Wednesday to share the details of her life since the attack. She said that doesn’t feel pain anymore, but avoids touching her face because she doesn’t want to know the full extent of her injuries.

"I don't ask a whole lot about my injuries... I know that I have my forehead," she said. Charla drinks her meals "with a straw through a small hole where her mouth used to be."

The video below shows a brief story of Carla Nash.

Many animals kept as pets are dangerous for their owners and others to be around. A 200-pound chimpanzee is a dangerous “pet” to have and even Charla said she never felt safe around the chimp. About a month ago, a woman in Pennsylvania was killed by her “pet” bear when she cleaned out its cage. In August a 78 year-old man in Utah, was mauled by a bear while he slept on a cot near a river.  For more on either of those stories, click on the link in that sentence.

Poor woman...I would have the lady owner of that chimp shot dead
(or let a chimp disfigure her face) all I know if I looked as disfigured as that poor woman I would have wanted the hospital to pull the plug on me

With all the resources in the world when it comes to surgery is there nothing that can be done to help this woman. Someone with the skills needs to help her. She has a kind heart and great spirit, we just need to help her. I know that someone can reach out and help this woman with her physical scares to improve her appearance.
