"American Idol" is getting more and more competition on Tuesday night, but the ratings for the most part are continuing to hold strong. For the first time in quite a bit a live performance show of the Fox hit dipped below 20 million viewers during the 8:00 p.m. hour, as the "Dancing With the Stars" results show ended up pulling away a few million. However, ABC's 14.1 million during "Dancing" paled in comparison to the 19 million who tuned in to watch some of Fox's opening acts. "Idol" ended up pulling in 22 million viewers during its second hour, allowing it to easily maintain its dominance as the top show on Tuesday night. (Granted, CBS aired reruns both of "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles.")

What is the reason behind the ratings decline for "Idol" this season? For many, it may simply be the fact that this year's crop of talent isn't necessarily on par with some of what we've seen in the past. Crystal Bowersox appears on the surface to be the clear favorite, and other singers such as Tim Urban are raising eyebrows simply because they are still in the competition.

Who are you rooting for to win "American Idol" at this point? Let me know your thoughts with a comment below and check back Wednesday night for coverage of the "Idol" results show.

crystal is miles ahead of everyone else. The talent this year is not close to the last 2 years. Heck lee is good but hes not even close to david cook. With all those trying out how did they end up with this group?
