Harbour View Gallery welcomes visiting artists Francine Gerson and Steve Conley for February. The gallery will hold a Visiting Artists Reception on Tuesday, February 5, from 6-8 p.m.
Conley is fairly new to the photography scene. Although he has not yet settled on a particular subject or style, his most satisfying shots have succeeded in capturing the abstract elements observed in candid reality. Steve's thrust is to uncover the extraordinary within the ordinary. "I wish to slow someone down, make them wrinkle their brow for a moment, and then smile," Steve remarks.
Although Steve has no institutional art education, he has received numerous helpful tips from good friends such as Mariner High School photography teacher Steve Frank. Steve has won numerous awards during his nascent art career. Most recently, he received a merit award at the Art League of Fort Myers' Celebration national competition and exhibition in November, as well as third place in both the Art League's "New Beginnings" and Cape Coral Art League's "Through the Lens" shows in January of this year.
Harbour View Gallery is a cooperative art gallery comprised of award-winning local artists. It is a place for the members to collaborate, inspire and express themselves. The gallery is owned, managed and maintained by the artist members who show their work, staff the gallery and handle all aspects of running the gallery.
