Photographer of iconic album cover for George Harrison dies

Barry Feinstein, who photographed more than 500 album covers, including George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass," has died at age 80, reports the Associated Press.

Feinstein took the photograph of George Harrison sitting among gnomes that was used on the front cover of the "All Things Must Pass" album. Some of his other well-known album cover shots included Janis Joplin's "Pearl," Dave Mason's "Alone Together," Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are a Changin'" and Gram Parson's "GP."

His work with Dylan was probably his most extensive. In addition to "The Times They Are a Changin'," Feinstein was the singer's exclusive photographer on Dylan's 1966 European tour and his 1974 tour with The Band. He was also known for shooting celebrities, including Judy Garland and Steve McQueen.
