Omaha World-Herald photojournalist Kent Sievers has won awards for his photography, and is now promoting a book, a novel he will read from at 1 p.m. Sunday at The Bookworm bookstore in Omaha.

The mystery novel, "Little Man," is available as an e-book for less than $5 and was published last year as a paperback by The Fiction Works. See the above links for sample chapters from the book.

Sievers, a photographer in Omaha for the last 23 years and a photojournalist for the World-Herald since 1990, sets his novel in Omaha. The protagonist of "Little Man," Alex Capstain, is a single father who loses his house and becomes homeless.

Besides his book, Sievers also writes online for his photo blog.

Sievers' publisher, The Fiction Works, has published novels by such Omaha writers as Charlie Vogel and Sally J. Walker. Paperbacks from The Fiction Works have been well-written and well-made of quality materials.
