A photographer was struck by a car and killed on Jan. 1, after taking pictures of Justin Bieber's Ferrari sports car in Los Angeles. Police state that the man was hit while he was returning to his own car. Los Angeles police officers state that the man died Tuesday evening at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Bieber was not in his car at the time of the incident.
According to police reports, Bieber had lent his car to a friend of his when it was pulled over for a traffic stop. When the photographer arrived at the vehicle, it was parked on a busy street. The police state that there will probably be no charges against the owner of the car who hit the man.
According to CNN, Justin Bieber reacted to the photographer's death stating:
“While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim. Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
This is not the first time that the celebrity has had a run in with the paparazzi. Back in May, a photographer was attempting to take photos of Bieber's girlfriend, Selena Gomez and he wrestled with the photog. Justin is now calling for changes in paparazzi laws after the fatal incident.
