One celebrity paparazzo’s final photos were of Justin Bieber's white Ferrari while it was pulled over on the 405 freeway yesterday by the California Highway Patrol in Los Angeles. While snapping his pictures, the 29-year-old male photographer going for the shot was struck and killed by another car Tuesday around 6:00 p.m.
When the photographer got to the scene, he crossed the road to take those fatal photos of Bieber’s Ferrari. It was when he was crossing the road again to return to his car that he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Justin Bieber was not in the car at the time of the accident. A friend of Bieber’s was driving the Ferrari when he got pulled over for a traffic stop.
The photographer was not a professional according to a statement a friend made and shared with The Los Angeles Times. The photographer was declared dead at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
As of this writing, no arrests have been made in the accident; but police are interviewing the driver whose vehicle struck the photographer.
In a statement released Wednesday by Island Def Jam Music Group, Bieber says he hopes the tragedy will inspire legislation to protect the lives of celebrities, police, bystanders and photographers themselves. ~ AP
