The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver concluded Sunday night with the closing ceremony BC Park Stadium.

Musical performances for the closing ceremony included offerings from Native Canadians Neil Young, Alanis Morrisette, Michael Buble, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback and Nikki Yanofsky.

Avril Lavigne delivered her Top 40 hits 'Happy Ending' and 'Girlfriend'.  Nickelback delivered 'How You Remind Me' and 'Burn It to the Ground'.  Alanis Morrisette sang 'Wunderkind'. Michael Buble sang 'Maple Leaf Forever'.

The Olympic torch was extinguished as Neil Young delivered a solo version of his 1976 ballad 'Long May You Run'.

Many fans hoped that the Canadian based progressive rock band 'Rush' would perform at the Closing Ceremony in Vancouver.  'Rush' members Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart were expected to perform at the Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony in Vancouver, but were absent from the spectacle.  Some hoped that 'Rush' would make up for their absence with a performance at the closing ceremony, but there was no sign of the trio anywhere.
